Roby and I went for a boat ride the other day and we noticed that one of our favorite Lake Minnetonka Homes was gone and a new structure was being built in its place. After a bit of research we sadly found out that the home at 2750 Gale Road in Woodland burnt to the ground Wednesday, February 12th. The Star and Tribune reported that “the fire was so large that flames could be seen from the other end of the lake” and “Smoke from the blaze was showing up on weather radar.”
At first, I thought the home that burned down was the original structure built in 1998 pictured above. However that structure was torn down and a new home was being built in its place. The new home under construction was the structure that was totally destroyed by fire this winter. Luckily the home was vacant and no one was injured in the blaze. Following is an artists rendition of the new home that was being built.
We hit the lake again to check out the fall colors and decided to boat past our favorite Lake Minnetonka home construction project to see how they are coming along. Coming along is an understatement as the superstructure is up, the roof is on and they are putting in windows! Check it out:
